Price Changes & New Shops

June 2, 2014

After the birthday sale of the last few weeks I felt it was time to lower my prices in the Etsy shop. The world is still dealing with an economic crisis so people are looking for cheaper options in any way (I know I do).

The advantage of selling digital items is that you make it once and you can sell it multiple times without having extra work. If I sold handmade dresses for example I would have to put in lots and lots of work in every dress I sold. With digital stuff I put in a lot of work before the item is put into the shop, but from that moment on all the work I have with sales is the administrative process.

Now that my shop is slowly filling up and my sales are slowly picking up, I want to give back to the customers as well. So what better way than to lower prices?

NEW PRICES IN THE ETSY SHOP

To prevent the shop from becoming a wildly growing forest of all kinds of prices and discounts I came up with the following:
* All blog related items (social media icons, blog kits, premade headers) will cost $ 3.00 per item
* All scrapbooking related items (decorations, labels, banners) will be $ 2.00 per item

NEW DISCOUNTS IN THE ETSY SHOP

All previous coupon codes have been replaced by 3 codes that can be used on all items, it doesn't matter which price they have.

* When buying 2 items in one purchase you will get a 20% discount by using coupon code ORANGE at checkout
* When buying 3 items in one purchase you will get a 30% discount by using coupon code WILLEM at checkout
* When buying 4 items or more in one purchase you will get a 40% discount by using coupon code MAXIMA at checkout

OPENING UP OTHER SHOPS

Since the beginning of April I opened up a Dawanda store next to my Etsy store. The store sells the same items, but is more aimed towards European customers. Prices in this store are in Euros instead of US Dollars.

To be honest, I haven't sold a single item on there since the shop opened, but I will give it a try till the end of the year. After all, it is a younger company than Etsy, so hopefully visitor rates will increase in the future.
Because I was trying out a new store option with Dawanda I thought why not try a few more? So last week I opened up stores on Storenvy and Bonanza. Let's see if this gets me anywhere or not.

Prices on Storenvy and Bonanza are in US Dollars and are the same as in my Etsy shop. Discount options differ however.

If you are a reader of this blog and you decide to buy one of my items I suggest you use my Etsy shop for that. Discounts options are just better on there. The other stores will aim at the public that visits that store but doesn't know about the blog yet.

So that was the news I wanted to share with you all. I'll definitely organize another Sale period, probably towards the end of Summer. In the meantime I will continue to share tutorials, new products and freebies on the blog here. And don't miss out on Wednesday's post this week in which I will share a great link to more digital freebies!
